Treat night, Siem Reap

Posted by on August 4, 2014

So, we spent the day cycling around Angkor again and then suffered a burst tyre on the ride home! After a TukTuk driver tried to scam us for $10 when the fare should have been $2 max, we walked/rode back slowly on the flat feeling a bit sorry for ourselves!
We showered, Matt did a good deed and met up with the guy from the Landmine museum and donated his old laptop for them to use in their school and we decided to head out for dinner. Kind of fancying lasagne, we searched for an Italian place but somehow ended up in a Bavarian restaurant (Tell Steak house restaurant), and thank goodness we did… AMAZING! Cute little waitresses dressed in ‘traditional’ Austrian dresses, proper customer service – smiles, pulling your chair out for you, refilling glasses of water and incredible food. Smoked salmon salad starter – could have done with more salmon but only because it was so good, the salad was huge, I had Vienna schnitzel with a peppercorn sauce (again, huge) and Matt had a New Zealand steak, perfectly cooked medium rare served with mashed potato (would have tasted good no matter what but tasted heavenly as I’d been craving it for so long) and a red wine sauce – like a super tasty gravy! Sadly we were too full for dessert… Maybe tomorrow?!

We headed on to have a massage, a full facial massage each including steam, a vacuum, face masks and an ultrasonic something or other – it was soooo relaxing, I tried my best not to drift off but I definitely had a little twitch or two! Faces feeling super smooth, we sat down for a foot scrub – you can’t beat a scrub on your feet and legs when you’re covered in bites, and you end up with silky smooth feet too – bonus! Matt’s now gone for a hot aroma oil massage, I’m just chilling feeling envious watching other people still experiencing massage bliss! Crazy how relaxing this place is to say you can hear the music blaring from the pubs/clubs out in the street.

Bavarian restaurant 10/10, Pure Vida massage place 10/10… Happy Monday!
